Get support from an insider, a seasoned educator & scholar
I am an educator, a leadership practitioner and scholar with substantial experience in admissions to U.S. higher education. I know what success is; I successfully applied and gained admission to the world’s No1 school, Harvard University, along with two Ph.D. programs (Antioch University and Kansas State University)
Why study abroad?
Studying abroad changes your life and perspectives. What perspectives did studying abroad offer for me? After earning a degree abroad, I jumped up to well-paid and higher level management positions working with prestigious organizations such as the Kansas Leadership Center, serving as the Case Manager of a $1.5 million federal grant at UFM Community Learning Center in Manhattan, and most recently working as an assistant professor at a prestigious leadership program at Fort Hays State University.

About Me
My name is Dr. Tamas Kowalik, I am a educator, a leadership practitioner and scholar with 20+ years of work experience in the private, public and non-profit sectors. I have lived and studied/worked on two continents; consequently, I have substantial cross-cultural/intercultural experience working with various audiences.
I studied diplomacy at the University of Leeds, UK, law and political science at the Eotvos Lorand University of Sciences in Budapest. I hold an M.P.A. degree from Harvard University, and a doctoral degree (Leadership Communication) from Kansas State University.
I began my career in the private sector at Ernst & Young, a leading consulting firm, where I served as an advisor. This was followed by key roles in public policy and organizational development in the Hungarian public sector. While working on the first structural reforms in Hungary after the downfall of communism, I gathered significant change management experience. After graduating from Harvard, I served in upper-level management roles. Besides introducing adaptive leadership and the case-in-point method in Hungary, I provided leadership training for civil servants and developed blended learning teaching platforms.
In 2019, my family and I moved to the U.S. I worked with the Kansas Leadership Center as research project manager and served as the Case Manager of a $1.5 million Federal (Department of Labor) grant serving underserved and underrepresented communities in Kansas. My efforts were honored by the Community Engagement and Service Award. I currently teach leadership theory and organizational leadership at Fort Hays State University.
